Modified Bentonite CP-180B
CP-180B is an organo clay (modified montmorillonite), designed especially for use in solvent based system including intermediate and low polarity polarity range organic liquid. It is an improved grade of CP-180. It is more fine, and easier to be dispersed compared with CP-180.

Using
CP-180B disperses under high shear and requires a polar activator (30%~40%) for best efficiency. Heat is not required to obtain good dispersion. Addition levels are typically in 0.2%~2.0%. Polar activator (95% Ethanol or 95% Methanol) is needed. Normally addition level of polar activator is recommended to be 30%~40% of CP-180B in weight.

What is modified bentonite?

We strongly recommend adding polar activators to organic bentonite to achieve full dispersion. Adequate dispersion can fully reflect the various properties of organic bentonite. At the same time, our most recommended polar activator is propylene carbonate.
If you choose methanol or ethanol, this is also a polar activator. Our packaging is made of a waterproof P-bag, which is suitable for long-distance transportation and will not cause damage to the bag packaging.
