Modified rheological additive is a kind of bentonite  tetraalkyl ammonium salt organoclay.Organoclay rheological additive with self activation,high effectiveness of gelling,high thixotropicy,which is applied in low to middle system.

Application: Solvent base paints, Drilling mud, Wooden paints,Car primer paint, Mill base,sealant,Lubricant grease, Marine paint, Ink,Industy paint, Ordinary paint.

Organic Bentonite CP-138Y is a kind of organo clay rheological additive used in solvent and resin systems covering non polarity to high polarity range.

  • Using

Organic Bentonite can be added directly in powder under high shear condition. Addition level is commonly 0.1%~1.0% of total formulation by weight. Polar activator need to achieve better performance.

  • The addition procedure as below.
  1. Add resin in solvent.
  2. Add CP-138Y under slow agitation.
  3. Disperse under high speed for 10-15 minutes.
  4. Add polar activator.
  5. Disperse under high speed for 10-15 minutes.
  6. Add wetting agent and other additive.
  7. Grinding and next procedure.

 If to make pre-gel, better efficiency can be achieved. Addition level in pre-gel is 5%-8% of total pre-gel in weight.

  • Pre-gel procedure as below.
  1. Add solvent or solvent mixture.
  2. Add CP-138Y under slow agitation.
  3. Disperse under high speed for 5-10 minutes.
  4. Add polar activator.
  5.  Disperse under high speed for 5-10 minutes.

Polar activator is suggested to be ethanol and water (95 and 5), methanol and water (95 and 5) or acetone.  

  • Package

Kraft bag or kraft complex interior with PE or customized.

Storage

Organic Bentonite should be stored in dry place.

CP-982S Organophilic Clay is a moderate temperature performance amine-treated Bentonite. It is a cost-effective product, particularly in all-oil, invert diesel and mineral oil based fluids, where sufficient shear is available to achieve full dispersion. CP-982S viscosifier is used to increase carrying capacity and suspension properties, providing support for weight materials and improved cutting removal.
