Organoclay is used for grease, including the following types of lubricants :
1),Recovery oil
2),Paraffin base oil
3),Naphthenic base oil
4),Synthetic base oil
1), Kraft paper bags(outer packaging)+ double-layered with polyethylene film bags or paper bags(inner packaging).
2), 25±0.25kg or 22.68(50lb) kg/bag, or according to user requirements.
16MT/20FCL with pallet, 18MT/20FCL without pallet. 25MT/40FCL with pallet.
3), We recommend that you store in a cool, dry place, the quality validity period is 24 months.
A:
First of all, the application of organoclay is used to grease lubricating oil. It is divided into two ways to add.
1 : One is to add dried powder directly.
2 : Make pre -gel to add to the formula.
Whether you choose any of our organoclay to apply to grease lubricating oil, we all strongly suggest to add Polar activator and make pre -gel to achieve the best dispersion effect, which will make the performance of the organoclay can fully reflect .
B:
The Polar activator we recommend include: acetone, methanol (95%), ethanol (95%), carbonate glycodine, and ethylene glycol ether derivatives. Carbonate is the most recommended polar activist.
Organoclay is a dispersible grade that can increase flexsibility in grease manufacturing.Organo bentonite can be added directly in powder under high shear condition.
Addition level is commonly 0.1%~1.0% (7%-10% in greases) of total formulation by weight. Polar activator can be eliminated, but small dosage of polar activator is helpful to achieve better performance.
C: Steps for usage
- Step of use of dried powder directly
1. Heat the oil to 60-80 ℃.
2. Add organic pussy (5-15%of the total formula) while stirring. Stir for 10-20 minutes.
3. Add polar activators (3%carbonate glycolic glycolic lipids of total formula), and then add additives and preservatives, antioxidants, metal passivation agents, and stir for 25-30 minutes.
4. Use pump to make it grind or average through the colloid.
5, remove gas, filtrate, packaging lubricating oil.
- Make Pre gel add:
10%-15% of organo clay is added to the base oil, and the activator is added (the amount of activator is 10%-40%of the organoclay rheology modifier).

Lubricant Additives Organoclay Bentonite

As a thickener, when organic clay is applied to lubricating grease as an additive, it has excellent stability under high temperature and pressure. Therefore, when your formula is at 180 ℃, the organic bentonite produced for Camp Shinning can still show excellent stability under high temperature and pressure.
At the same time, when organic bentonite is used in lubricating grease, its water resistance is also needed by many of our users. At present, Camp Shinning has a wide range of new types of organoclay bentonite | Organophilic clay. The main types of lubricating grease used are CP-250 a CP- 40 cp n pz. They are all modified organoclay bentonite. They are suitable for the lubricating grease of mineral oil or synthetic oil, and also suitable for the lubricating of diesel engine systems. When you test them, you will find it obvious. Our bentonite will show very high gel efficiency and good thixotropy.
When you use our model CP-40 for lubricating grease, it is more compatible with the formula of the diesel engine system. If you can use the polar activator., similar to propylene carbonate or methanol or ethanol, it will have a more obvious dispersion effect. Therefore, we generally recommend that customers add polar activators when using cp40.
If you have special requirements for high temperature and high pressure of your formula, we suggest you use our cp250 or c pmp z. Well, it has been widely used in the production of lubricating esters due to the market.
In terms of the addition amount, our organic bentonite is generally used in the grease system at a specific amount between 0.2% and 4%, which is generally based on your experimental results.
Currently, there are three main types of organoclay bentonite recommended by Camp Shinning New Material Co. Ltd. for use in lubricants grease, namely CP-34, CP-992, and CP-MPZ.
1), How to choose these different models?
The biggest difference lies in the base oil used in their lubricants grease. If the base oil is diesel, we recommend you use our CP-34. If the base oil is mineral oil or synthetic oil, we recommend you use our CP-992 or CP-MPZ.
2), When selecting the above organophilic bentonite clay models to apply to lubricants grease, we recommend that you use a polarity activator. The most ideal polarity activator is propylene carbonate, which is a relatively stable activator. Of course, methanol, ethanol, and even water can be used as activators, and propylene carbonate is our first recommended activator.
3), At the same time, no matter you choose any of these models to apply to the lubricant system, we recommend that you make pre-gelling, because this can make the dispersion effect of the entire formula better.
4), Some people choose not to do pre-gelation, so they can be added to the formulas of different products in sequence.
From our production experience, we recommend that you do pre-gelling.
5), Generally when making activator, add 10~15% organic bentonite to the base oil, and then add the activator. The amount of activator is generally 10%~40% of the amount of organoclay bentonite. Regarding the amount of activator added, we recommend that you obtain it through experimentation.
6), After you finish pre-gelling, the longer you leave it, the better the quality of the organic bentonite will be.
