Rheology modifiers CP-EW is modified bentonite. Rheology modifiers is mainly used in water-borne system paints.

Application

Using

Rheology additive Viscosifiers CP-EW it can be added directly in powder, with its addition to be 0.2~3.0%. Procedures are as follow.

  1. water (PH:7.0-8.0)

2.Rheology additive CP-EW (Dispersing at high speed for 20-30minutes)

  1. Additive
  2. Pigment and filler (Mixing and dispersing)
  3. Emulsion (Mixing).
  4. Post correct.

Rheology modifiers CP-160 for oil drilling mud CP-160 is an easy dispersing, self activating Organophilic Clay. Rheological additive exhibits high performance efficiency in diesel, low aromatic mineral oil, modified vegetable oil and synthetic base fluid formulation.

Rheology modifiers as a new style of organoclay rheological additive

Rheology modifiers CP-24  is a new style of organoclay rheological additive made from bentonite. Organoclay is used in solvent and resin systems covering medium polarity to high polarity range. Rheological additives is adapted for aromatic solvent, ester, ketone, alcohol and resins in medium and high polarity such as two-component polyurethane, fluorocarbon coating, epoxy coating, zinc-rich coating etc.

Advantages

Rheology modifiers CP-24 is used in the following applications:

Using

It can be added directly in powder under high shear condition. Addition level is commonly 0.1%~1.0% (7%-10% in greases) of total formulation by weight. in low and medium solvents, Polar activator is required to achieve better performance. The addition procedure is suggested as below.

  1. Add resin in solvent.
  2. Add CP-24 under slow agitation.
  3. Disperse under high speed for 10-15 minutes.
  4. Add polar activator (95% ethanol or 95% acetone)
  5. Disperse under high speed for 10-15 minutes.
  6. Add wetting agent and other additive.
  7. Grinding and next procedure.

If to make pre-gel, better efficiency can be achieved. Addition level in pre-gel is 8%-10% of total pre-gel in weight. Pre-gel procedure is as below.

  1. Add solvent or solvent mixture.
  2. Add CP-24  under slow agitation.
  3. Disperse under high speed for 5-10 minutes.
  4. Add polar activator.
  5. Disperse under high speed for 10-15 minutes.

Rheology modifiers Polar activator is suggested to be ethanol/water (95/5)or acetone/water (95/5). Dosage of polar activator is about 10%-35% of CP-24 by weight.

Note: The suggested addition level of our organoclay and polar activator is based on our lab testing. Exact dosage for detail formulation should be based on user’s testing.
