Organic bentonite is widely used in drilling fluids in oil fields due to its excellent physical and chemical properties. With a specific gravity of 1.6 – 1.8, it is suitable for use in oil-based drilling fluids and can effectively improve the density and stability of the fluid.

The heap density is 540 KG/M³, indicating its convenience in transportation and storage. The insolubility of the organobentonite in water ensures that no unwanted reactions will occur in the aqueous environment, while its dispersibility in oil enables it to be evenly distributed in oil-based drilling fluids, enhancing the rheological properties and thixotropy of the drilling fluid.

Such properties are essential for the lubrication and cooling of cutting tools during the drilling process, preventing corrosion and improving drilling efficiency. In addition, the slight odor makes it safer to use and reduces irritation to operators.

The white powdered organobentonite has a moisture content of 3.5% or less and is highly stable at high temperatures and pressures, maintaining good performance under high shear conditions.

The indicators we tested can make organic bentonite become mineral oil base, drilling mud fluid indispensable and important additive components.

When organic bentonite is applied to drilling mud fluid with mineral oil as base oil, a series of tests are conducted to ensure that it meets the technical requirements.
