Showing a very high gelation efficiency is one of the major advantages of organobentonite in paints and coatings.

They can be used in paints, coatings, and ink lubricating paper. Whether it is a water-based system or an oil-based system, they can have different specifications. At the same time, they can be used as a suspension in guerrilla mud and are a very ideal chemical additive.

organophilic clay is also for this reason that he can be used as a thickening rheological agent.

Our organo clay bentonite is mainly available in light-colored or white powder form. In a wide range, its thixotropic properties are very outstanding, when you stir and high shear, its viscosity will be reduced, and when you stop stirring to make its viscosity will return to the original.

So our thickening rheology agent has strong high temperature stability and high pressure stability. Organophilic clay is currently in the grease, water-based paints, oil-based coatings and inks and oil drilling fluids in the indispensable thickening rheological agent.

Organic Bentonite clay also prevents sagging, prevents settling and does not stratify pigments and other ingredients when storing paints and coatings for long periods of time. This also ensures that the mixture, at all times, maintains a uniform consistency.

And the adhesion of the paint coating is significantly improved. It is now also used in numerous new industrial sectors, such as rubber agriculture cosmetics and others.

Rheology Solution CP-34 is an organo clay (modified bentonite), designed especially for use  in solvent based system. It can be used widely in solvents from low polarity to medium-high polarity.

Application

                     CP-34 is used in the following applications:

• Marine paint, Industrial paint, heavy-duty, anticorrosion paint such as bituminous coatings, polyester paints, Alkyd paints.
• Sealant
• Inks
• Grease
• Unsaturated polyester putty

Using

CP-34 disperses under high shear and requires a polar activator for best efficiency. Heat is not required to obtain good dispersion. Addition levels are typically in 0.2%~2.0%. Polar activator (95% Ethanol or 95% Methanol) is needed. Normally addition level of polar activator is recommended to be 40%~50% of CP-34 in weight. If in xylene system, addition level of polar activator is about 30%-40% of CP-34 in weight.

Pre-gel is made as below procedure.

1. Charge solvent to mill
2. Slowly add CP-34(6-10% by weight of total pregel) to mill under agitation.
3. Mix at high speed for 5 minutes.
4. Add polar activator.
5. Mix at high speed for 5 minutes.

Storage

CP-34 has a shelf life of 2 years, and should be stored in ventilated cool and dry place.
