Organic clay bentonite is one of the most sold products in the international market. Rheological additive is mainly purchased in large quantities by users of drilling fluids.

For example, its greatest advantage is its excellent suspension properties, especially in drilling muds and other suspension systems, ensuring the rheology and stability of the formulation. This suspension effect in some low concentration formulations, can also achieve the overall performance of stability.

The most important properties of pro-organic bentonite in various applications are its good thixotropic and thermal stability as well as its chemical resistance.

At the same time, its suspension and rheological properties are outstanding. Its suspension properties are especially prominent in drilling mud fluids.

This is because organophilic clay can carry some of the rock debris out of the well, ensuring the safety of the well wall and the efficiency of the operation. Its chemical resistance means that when it is used in formulations, it has no effect on other chemical components.

The good thixotropy of organobentonite is mainly manifested in the fact that when organo clay is applied to some paint and coating formulations, even though these products are in a static state, they can still show good viscosity, while making the final performance of the application of the construction of spraying and painting stable.

If you have high temperature requirements for the application of Organic clay Bentonite, we have a special product for 200 degree Celsius applications, which can still provide stable suspension and thixotropic and rheological properties at high temperatures.

We mainly recommend you to apply our Organic Bentonite Clay to paints and inks, greases, cosmetics, water-based putty, water-based coatings and so on.

Of course, in sealants and adhesives, organobentonite is also an important thickener and rheological additive, because it can improve the bonding strength of sealants.

Bentonite Clay Organic CP-20 is an conventional organo clay (modified montmorillonite), it is suggested for solvent of low and medium polarity range. It has fine characteristics of thickening, anti-serttling, anti-sag and storage stability.

Using

CP-20 disperses under high shear and requires a polar activator (30%~40%)  for best efficiency.

Heat is not required to obtain good dispersion. Addition levels are typically in 0.2%~2.0%. Polar activator (95% Ethanol or 95% Methanol) is needed. Normally addition level of polar activator is recommended to be 30%~40% of CP-20 in weight.
