Organoclay 908 for Low to Medium Polarity Solvent Based Coatings  

This is a white modified bentonite with a fineness of 98%. The moisture content is below 3%, and the loss on ignition is 29-33%.

It is widely used in varnishes, industrial paints, wood coatings, printing inks, adhesives, and putties. In these applications, CP-908 can significantly improve the anti-settling and thixotropic properties of these products. Its gelling properties are also exceptionally strong.

During use, we recommend that you add a certain amount of polar activator, which can help the entire formulation quickly disperse to achieve the desired performance.

This polar activator can be methanol, ethanol or propylene carbonate, and sometimes adding a certain amount of water can also play a role in activating the same.

Using

CP-908 can be added directly in powder. The addition is recommended to be before grinding procedure to get the best effectiveness. Addition level is commonly 0.2%~2.0%.

Storage

CP-908 has a shelf life of 2 years, and should be stored in ventilated cool and dry place.
