- Composition:
o Mainly composed of natural minerals mixed with organic matter. In some specific organoclay compositions, components such as montmorillonite and alkyl quaternary ammonium salts may also be included.
- Characteristics:
- has good dispersibility, suspension and thickening properties, which makes it useful in paints, inks, oilfield drilling, etc. The organoclay compositions are dried, ground, etc. to obtain the desired form and size.

o Industrial field: widely used as a thickener and thixotropic agent, capable of adsorbing and holding large quantities of liquids to give the mixture higher viscosity and stability.
o Environmental field: it can effectively remove pollutants in water. Due to its high specific surface area and microscopic pore structure, organoclay can adsorb and immobilize heavy metal ions, organic pollutants and microorganisms in the water.
o In oilfield drilling, organic bentonite clay is a high quality suspending agent. In mineral oil, diesel oil, synthetic oil has a better suspension performance.
o In the field of grease, organic bentonite grease, with high temperature stability.
o In ink, including newspaper ink, organic bentonite is a better rheological additive.
o In waterborne paints and coatings, inorganic bentonite is particularly stable in waterborne systems.

CP-250A Organophilic Clay is an easy dispersing, self-activating organoclay that exhibits high performance efficiency in diesel, low aromatic mineral oil, modified vegetable oil and synthetic base fluid formulation.
CP-250Aunique rheological structure suspends weighting materials and other solids with less increase in viscosity and gel strength than conventional bentonite. It is highly effective in distillate and mineral oil-based invert fluids.
