Organic Bentonite – Storage

Modified Bentone CP-40 should be stored in a dry, well-ventilated area at a temperature between 0°C and 30°C.
Keep the container tightly closed. The shelf life is 24 months under proper storage conditions.

Organic Bentonite – Usage

CP-40 disperses efficiently under high shear and performs best when activated with a polar agent. Heating is not required for good dispersion.
Typical dosage levels range from 0.2% to 2.0%. The recommended polar activator (95% ethanol or 95% methanol) should be 45%–60% of the CP-40 weight, or 30%–40% in xylene systems.

Pre-gel preparation procedure:

1. Add solvent into the mixing tank.

2. Gradually introduce CP-40 (6–10% by total pre-gel weight) while stirring.

3. Mix at high speed for 5 minutes.

4. Add the polar activator.

5. Continue high-speed mixing for another 5 minutes.

Packaging: Kraft bags or composite kraft bags lined with PE, or customized as required.
Standard sizes: 25 kg/bag, 50 lb/bag, or 600 kg jumbo bag.
