This organic bentonite, as an economical anti-sagging agent, is a non-toxic, odorless, white powder rheological additive. It can be used in both water-based paints and coatings, as well as oil-based paints and coatings, inks and greases, and is also widely used in some oil field drilling muds. In particular, this oil-based bentonite forms a gel in water after dispersion, and it is a relatively efficient rheological additive.

As is well known, powder coatings with poor flowability are prone to forming flower patterns, while those with excessive flowability are prone to sagging. Therefore, the use of organic bentonite effectively balances sag resistance and flowability.

Its typical addition rate is 3% of the formulation. We primarily recommend bentonite CP40 and CP10, which are produced using a wet process, offering high purity and performance.

After adding organic bentonite to the thixotropic agent, the thixotropic properties are significantly enhanced.
This is because organic bentonite contains nanoscale silica, which exists in a surface-organic unsaturated hydrogen bond molecular state, thereby enhancing its adsorption capacity.
