Rheological additive for breaking fluids
CP-138Y rheological additive is an oil-treated bentonite clay-based fluid. It can be used to thicken any oil-based drilling fluid and improve wellbore cleanup during drilling and workover operations. The rheology modifier can create gel-like oil muds for long-term suspension of weighting agents in packer fluids and casing strings.

4, using
A rheological additive can be added directly to the powder under high-shear conditions. The addition level is typically 0.1% to 1.0% of the total formulation weight. A polar activator is required to achieve better performance. The addition procedure is suggested below.
Add the resin to the solvent.
Add CP-138Y rheological additive while stirring slowly.
Mix at high speed for 10-15 minutes.
Add the polar activator.
Mix at high speed for 10-15 minutes.
Add the wetting agent and other additives.
Grind and proceed to the next step.
Making a pre-gel can achieve better efficiency. The pre-gel should be added at a rate of 5-8% of the total pre-gel weight. The pre-gel procedure is as follows.
Add solvent or solvent mixture.
Add CP-138Y while stirring slowly.
Mix at high speed for 5-10 minutes.
Add polar activator.
Mix at high speed for 5-10 minutes.
The polar activator is assumed to be ethanol/water (95/5), methanol/water (95/5), or acetone. The polar activator dosage is indicated below.

7, Storage
Rheological additive CP-138Y: Store in a dry, well-ventilated area at a temperature of 0°C to 30°C. Keep the container closed. The warranty period is 24 months.
