THICKENT CP-1 | Organoclay

Product introduction: THICKENT W series is a special organic modified clay . It can be dispersed both in aqueous system and solvent system. Especially, It has excellent behavior in water-borne system. It can replace cellulose such as HEC and HPMC in water-borne coatings, construction mortar,ceramics.

THICKENT CP-1 | Organoclay

Typical properties: *Excellent water retention (Superior water retention to HEC and HPMC). *Wide viscosity range (Cover all viscosity range of cellulose). *Fine temperature tolerance. It can disperse in cold water or in hot water. *High adhesion and strengthening, it can be used as adhesive agent in printing and dyeing in textile industry. *High thixotropy *THICKENT W has good coordination with cellulose, it can be used together with HEC or HPMC. Normally, the ratio of THICKENT W3 and cellulose is 80%:20%.

  1. Cement-based mortar
  • THICKENT W3 has good thickening performance in mortar and can improve mortar’s rheology. With THICKENT W3, mortar is more slippy and easier for workers to coat on wall. It can Prolong construction time of mortar, and create higher working efficiency. It is helpful for mortar to form high intension during solidification.
  1. Putty
  • THICKENT W3 has good water-retention performance in putty, and it can prevent putty to be dewatering and crack, and prolong construction time. THICKENT W3 has anti-skinning performance and is helpful for putty to have high intension during solidification.
  1. Thermal insulation mortar (mainly for Bonding mortar and overlay mortar)
  • With its high water-retention thixotropy and adhesion, THICKENT W3 can prolong construction time of mortar and create higher working efficiency. It gives fine surface and slippery feeling of the mortar and improve surface quality by its shrinkability and anticracking. It is helpful for mortar to form high intension during solidification. and improve bond strength.
Interface treatment binder
  • THICKENT W3 is good thickening agent for interface treatment binder. It can increase tensile strength and anti-shear strength, and make the binder to have better adhesion and binding strength.
  1. Ceramic tile
◆ THICKENT W3 can be used in ceramic tile as water retention agent,adhesive. With its perfect water retention and adhesion, ceramic tile can be strength enough to avoid crack and easier to be constructed.
  1. Emusion coatings and other water-borne paint.
  • With its high thickening and thixotropy, it can be used to replace HEC in Emusion coatings and other water-borne paint as rheological additive, film-forming agent, adhesive, emulsifierand stabilizer. It also can be used together with HEC in a proper ratio.
  1. Printing and dyeing in textile.
  • Used as adhesive

Using

  4. Pigment and filler (Mixing and dispersing)
  5. Emulsion (Mixing).
  6. Post correct.

Using

Modified Bentonite CP-10 can be added directly in powder without polar activator and making pre-gel. But better performance may achieve if polar activator is added and pre-gel procedure is affected.

The addition is recommended to be before grinding procedure to get the best effectiveness. Addition level is commonly 0.2%~1.0%.

Organo clay modified bentonite CP-34

CP-34 is an organo clay (modified bentonite), designed especially for use  in solvent based system. It can be used widely in solvents from low polarity to medium-high polarity.

Organoclays is mainly used in paints and coatings, oilfield drilling and fracturing fluids, grease adhesives, cosmetics and other fields. Organophilic clay is mainly used as a thickener, suspending agent, rheology additive, and thixotropic agent. It has outstanding performance in anti-settling and anti-sag properties.

Using

CP-34 disperses under high shear and requires a polar activator for best efficiency. Heat is not required to obtain good dispersion. Addition levels are typically in 0.2%~2.0%. Polar activator (95% Ethanol or 95% Methanol) is needed. Normally addition level of polar activator is recommended to be 40%~50% of CP-34 in weight. If in xylene system, addition level of polar activator is about 30%-40% of CP-34 in weight.

Pre-gel is made as below procedure.

Charge solvent to mill

Slowly add CP-34(6-10% by weight of total pregel) to mill under agitation.

Mix at high speed for 5 minutes.

Add polar activator.

Mix at high speed for 5 minutes.

Using CP-EZ can be added directly in powder under high shear condition. The addition is recommended to be before grinding procedure to get the best effectiveness. Addition level is commonly 0.2%~1.0%. In low polarity system such as mineral spirit, if polar activator is added, better efficiency can be achieved. Dosage of polar activator is suggested to be 10%-20% of CP-EZ by weigh
