  1.  Mud Performance Specification

Yield Point (YP): 10 – 20 lb/100ft2

Electrical Stability (ES): minimum 500 Volt

HTHP Filtrate @ 121oC (250oF), 500psi: maximum 12ml

Mud Performance Test

  • Warm the mud to 49oC (120oF). Test R600 (dial reading at 600rpm of Fann 35 VG Meter), R300, R200, R100, R6, R3, 10-seconds gel strength and 10-minutes gel strength. Calculate Yield Point

(YP):YP= 2xR300 – R600 (lb/100ft2)

  • Hot roll the test mud in a hot roller at 121oC (250oF) for 16 hours. After hot rolling, cool the mud to 49oC (120oF), then test R600, R300, R200, R100, R6, R3, 10-seconds gel strength and 10-minutes gel strength. Calculate Yield Point (YP):

YP= 2xR300 – R600 (lb/100ft2)

  • Electric Stability (ES) is tested always at room temperature. ES is tested before and after hot rolling. Before testing ES, stir the mud at 6000rpm for 10 minutes on Hamilton Beach Mixer.

 

  • HTHP filtrate is tested after hot rolling. Test is at 121oC (250oF) and 500psi pressure differential. Collect the filtrate for 30 minutes.

&lt;span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;b&gt;OBM grade organophilic Clay CP-2/CP-2A &lt;/b&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;is a moderate temperature performance amine-treated Bentonite. It is a cost-effective product, particularly in all-oil, invert diesel and mineral oil based fluids, where sufficient shear is available to achieve full dispersion. CP-2/CP-2A viscosifier are used to increase carrying capacity and suspension properties, providing support for weight materials and improved cutting removal.&lt;/span&gt;

&lt;span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;b&gt;Lubricant CP-LUBER&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/strong&gt; is an excellent lubricant with the main components being aliphatic derivatives. It is a Rate of Penetration (ROP) Enhancer and plays an important role in a high performance water-base mud. It is better to reduce friction coefficient and torque which also can be used as drilling fluid lubricant for various kinds of well, especially for highly deviated wells or deep wells.&lt;/span&gt;

After the initial treatment, periodic treatments should be made to maintain the desired concentration. Higher concentrations may be required for pills and special applications. Treatment levels and product usage depend on the rate of penetration, solids-control equipment and dilution rates. One suggested application method consists of maintaining a small, constant stream, added directly into the suction pit. CP-LUBER is compatible with common water base mud additives and is a low-fluorescent additive.&lt;/span&gt;

Wetting Agent CP-WET for oil base mud,Wetting Agent is mainly made from oil fatty acid and its poly amine salt.Wetting Agent is a powerful oil wetting agent for oil-base mud. Wetting Agent is effective in oil-wetting barite and drill solids, and in reducing the adverse effects of water contamination.
