The difference between bentonite and organic bentonite clay
Organic bentonite clay is used in organic or synthetic-based drilling fluids and the bentonite is used in water-based drilling fluids.
After the bentonite organic clay is organically modified|Organophilic clay, some properties of the bentonite can be manifested in the organic solvent. The ore is mostly calcium-based, and the organic bentonite clay exchanges organic macromolecules between the montmorillonite layers.
Bentonite cannot be used in solvent-based coatings, and modified bentonite | organoclay quaternary ammonium salts can be used in solvent-based coatings.
